The time
for empty religion is fast disappearing. The enemy (devil) actually knows those
to fear, and those not to fear. The demons said to the sons of sceva, “Paul I
know, Jesus I know, but who are you? “ (Acts 19:14). Also the Jews could not
withstand the power with which Stephen spoke. He was too hot for them to
handle. If you are in a Pentecostal church, you must have a Pentecostal
experience and there must be a touch of heaven upon your life that others will
see and they will know that you have been dinning with the almighty God. It is
not possible for the almighty to be in someone’s life and it will remain the old
same way. No something must happen to you positively. The bible says when the disciples
gathered together in the upper room, cloven tongues of fire fell on them. The
men and women watching them knew that something has happened to them. “How hear
we our languages spoken by these people who are Hebrews?” some who wanted to
deceive themselves said they were filled with new wine. But the men answered, “We
are not drunk, this is that which was written.” That which is written must come to pass in our lives in Jesus name. Amen.
It is not
an easy thing to confront the Goliath. Neither will it be easy to cut off his
head but as a fire person, you must desire to go beyond these stages. So, you
have to confront Goliath, cut off his head and display it like a trophy. David
said, “You philistine, this is the head of your champion.
Beloved,
you can’t read this message and pray the prayer points in it and not have
enough fire. In 1 kings 18:36, we have the description of a fireman. It was a terrible
period in Israel, jezebel the witchcraft woman had taken over the land and the
altar of God had been broken down. The worship of Jehovah God had been abandoned;
his prophets imprisoned and were fed with bread and water. It was a time when God
was put at the tail and the people of Israel were doing what they wanted. It
was a period of absolute darkness. It was a terrible time. In the midst of
their backsliding came the fire man and he called for a contest. 1 king 18: and
the people of Israel were doing what they wanted. It was a period of absolute
darkness. It was a terrible time. In the midst of their backsliding came the
fire man and he called for a contest.
1 kings 18:6-37 says “And it came to pass, at the
time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah
the prophet came near and said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac,
and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these
things at Your word. Hear
me, O Lord, hear me, that this
people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their
hearts back to You again.”
That prayer did not last one minute. Verse
38-39 says “Then the fire of the Lord fell and
consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust, and it
licked up the water that was in the trench. Now when all the people
saw it, they fell on
their faces; and they said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!”
there was no controversy again. They saw it because god used the fire man to
perform.
In 2 kings 1, there was trouble again. The
king had a sickness and he went to consult demons. So, Elijah said to the messenger
of the king that the king shall die. The king heard it and said, “me? You will
die first.” He decided to arrest Elijah. Verse 9-10 says “Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty
men. So he went up to him; and there he was, sitting on the top of a hill. And
he spoke to him: “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down!, So Elijah answered and
said to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven and
consume you and your fifty men.” And fire came down from heaven and consumed
him and his fifty.
Fifty one persons roasted on the floor. The enemy still did not give up. The
enemy does not go on sabbatical leave. One would have thought that after fifty
one persons roasted, they would leave the man alone but look at what verses 11
-12 says “Then he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty men.And he
answered and said to him: “Man of God, thus has the king said, ‘Come down quickly!,
So Elijah answered and said to them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you
and your fifty men.” And the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him
and his fifty.
Another fifty one making a hundred and two people roasted on the floor because
someone said, “if am a man of God, let fire from heaven come down.” But they
did not give up but sent a third group of a captain fifty with his fifty. But
this third captain had some home training. He went on his knees and fell before
Elijah. Your enemies shall bow down
before you, in Jesus name. They did not bow down in a hurry. The man came
and saw the soldiers like roasted beef on the ground. He was there when they
were sent out to arrest Elijah and he knew that if he was not careful, he and
his own men would go the same way others went. So he bowed down before the man
of God. He besought Elijah and said to him, “o man of God, I beg you, let my
life and the life of these fifty men be precious in thy sight. Verse 14-15
says, “And the angel of the Lord said to Elijah, “Go down with him; do not
be afraid of him.” So he arose and went down with him to the king. Then he said
to him, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Because you have sent messengers to
inquire of Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of His word?
Therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone up, but
you shall surely die.’’ The man of fire.
For over 250 times in the scriptures, it
appeared as if the devil was in control because of his noise and revival but on
each occasion, God showed up. Sometimes, it looked as if everything was gone,
as if there was no hope at all. God showed up and said “mr devil, I am still
here you cannot go ahead with what you are doing.
